Join us for an engaging conversation backed by research on online education. What works, what doesn't, which populations benefit, which don't. After a year and a half of COVID-19, we all have thoughts about online learning, and we’d love to hear them!
Di Xu is an Associate Professor of Education Policy at UCI, where she serves as co-director of the campus-wide Educational Research Initiative and the co-director of the school-based Online Learning Research Center. Her research examines the impacts of educational programs and policies on college students’ academic and labor market outcomes, with a particular focus on community colleges and on students from disadvantaged backgrounds. Di specializes in quasi-experimental designs in program evaluation and mixed methods analyses of teaching practices and learning processes. She has won many awards for her research on teaching and learning at community colleges, including an NSF Career Award (2018), an NAEd/Spencer Postdoctoral Fellowship (2018), a UCI Distinguished Assistant Professor Award for Research, and the APPAM 40 for 40 Specialist for excellent research on public policy.
